About Us
Our Mission
To reduce the overpopulation and suffering of dogs and to rescue, vet and place adoptable dogs into good permanent homes.
Who Are Our Dogs
Those facing euthanasia in shelters or pounds, dogs in untenable living situations, owner turn-ins that might allow those dogs to face an undesirable fate as in another’s hands. We make every effort to develop screening criteria and procedures that will help us identify dogs with good temperament, those who will successfully become beloved family members. This is not to say that all of our dogs will be “perfect”, but what dog is? We will be as honest as possible about the characteristics of our dogs. We feel very strongly about placing our dogs and require that they be returned to us in the event that they cannot – at any time – remain in their new home.
Our adoption fee includes spaying or neutering along with age appropriate vaccinations and heart worm preventative. Dogs over seven years of age may qualify for the $25 senior dog discount.
We do not have a shelter or facility in which we house our dogs. Our dogs are kept in foster families throughout Northwestern Ohio and Southeastern Michigan. We are more than happy to arrange a “meet and greet” between you and the dog; however, we ask you to submit a completed application before then.
We do not have a phone number available for contact so please contact us via email only.
Who We Are
The name of our rescue is Best Friends Forever Rescue. It just seems to fit us. We operate as good friends, both with each other and with each dog. It is a group of volunteers who are loving, caring people with years of knowledge in rescuing “throw away dogs”. We banded together to rescue, provide a place of safety, love and finally to find forever homes to abandoned, stray and neglected dogs . The words “It’s all about the dogs” guides us in the day by day program.
We are all volunteers who hold many different jobs in “real” life such as teachers, managers, homemakers, government workers, retirees. We are not “professionals” just simply willing to commit to helping these dogs until a good home is found. We have no paid employees and all funds given to our rescue are used for the dogs.
Our dogs are placed in foster homes where they are provided with love and understanding as to their needs. Medical care is given to insure they are in good health, which includes spay/neuter and current vaccines before being placed in their forever homes. They are evaluated as to temperament and personalityenables us to find and place them in homes that are the right fit for their needs and the needs of their future family.
